I am writing to share my complete satisfaction and admiration for the

Jane Iredale line.

Around 6 years ago, I was diagnosed with Vitiligo. It was something extremely hard for me to deal with, as my nice tan, Mediterranean skin was my favorite feature about myself, and all of a sudden out of the blue, it was gone. I was becoming a Dalmatian.  I was ashamed. I stopped wearing skirts and shorts, not wanting people to see my legs. I always had a cardigan or sweater on, not wanting people to see my arms.  I stopped going to public places where I would be seen in a bathing suit, completely embarrassed about how I look.

I have always been a very natural person, not wearing makeup other than a bit of blush, mascara, and a simple gloss.  However, given these circumstances, I had to start wearing some, as I wanted to hide my spots on my face too, not to forget to mention the new extreme sensitivity of my skin. The only thing I could not cover, were my hands. So I quickly became addicted to makeup, trying everything and anything I could to cover up. Since the beginning of my Vitiligo, I have spent thousands on makeup, trying every single brand available to me, determined to find the best one. But nothing really impressed me. Either they were too thick and heavy and made me feel like I was wearing a mask, of they didn’t hold and I would have to reapply regularly throughout the day. Or they were too expensive. I became discouraged. 

A few months ago, one of the most precious people in my life opened a great urban spa in the downtown Montreal area. I walked in last weekend, and noticed that she was now carrying makeup. Jane Iredale products. She said that she brought in this line with me and her in mind (she has skin cancer so has also been looking for cosmetics that are good for extremely sensitive skin).  

She started telling me about the brand and how great it is for people with skin issues. I smiled, loving her positivity and enthusiasm, but I was not convinced, as I tried so many kinds before. I thought to myself, how will this be any different?  Then she pulled out a book, showing me the different products for the different skin conditions. She flipped to the Vitiligo page, and there I saw a before and after picture that impressed me. I asked her to try the makeup on me - I couldn’t wait. I wanted to see if this stuff was for real, or was that picture Photoshop work.

So she did - we used the Disappear concealer in Medium, the Amazing base in Amber, and the D2O spray.  I just loved the feeling as she was putting it all on me. The smell, the freshness, how it felt like there was absolutely nothing on my skin.I loved it already. But when she was done, and I saw myself in the mirror, I instantly became so emotional because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.  The most amazing coverage - we could barely notice anything. And I felt so natural - I didn’t look like I had makeup on. And I didn’t feel like I had any makeup on. I felt like myself again!  I gave my friend a giant hug thanking her for bringing this line in. I was sold. I bought those three items, and now I have a few more items I am going to pick up later on this week.  Jane Iredale is now all that I will be using. I feel that I am in good hands, and I know I am doing good for my skin with this brand.

So thanks to amazing people in my life, I have now given up on hiding behind thick makeup, and I have my confidence back. So all that to say Thank You.  I am forever grateful, and I am now a trusting and loyal customer.
